team!
Story by Joe Johnson
October 8th Report
With Super DIRT Week XXXVI
having just wrapped up, so
has the season for the
Daniels & Mayfield
Motorsports owned #87. With
both our TEO and Bicknell
cars and engines for sale we
are finishing up the season
lending a hand to Shawn in
the last couple of shows.
Shawn will be piloting the
Amanda Whitney #21 TEO for
this coming weekends Black
Rock Speedway event and
plans for next weeks Orange
County Fair Speedway;
Eastern States 200 Weekend
are not yet clear.
After a very eventful 2007,
the Daniels and Mayfield
Motorsports would like to
thank all of our crew help
for a positive season as
well as our loyal sponsors.
Without all of the support,
none of it could have been
accomplished. Furthermore,
big news from the Daniels &
Mayfield Motorsports camp is
that while all equipment is
for sale, it is simply to
liquidate for new
merchandise. That's right,
the Daniels & Mayfield
Motorsports team has
purchased a new car for
2008, and we are proud to
announce that a brand new
Troyer Max-Flex will
compliment our assault next
season. At this point the
overall plans for next
season are yet to be
completely decided, but if
all goes as planned a brand
new Ford powered Big-Block
will set between the rails
of the new car. Currently,
the team is looking for
additional financial
backing, so they can make
2008 a success. If you may
be interested in teaming up
with one of the quickest
growing teams along the
DIRTcar circuit you can
contact team co-owner,
Brian Mayfield.
The team would also like to
send out a special thanks to
Troyer, Inc. owner Billy
Colton. Even though Shawn
was in a Bicknell during
Super DIRT Week, Billy
Colton was very instrumental
in setting the car up for
the "Moody Mile" and the
team is very grateful.
Thanks!

Finally
Shawn
and the
Daniels
- Maryfield
team got
rid of
the
small
mechanical
gremlins
that
effected
the team
at the
start of
the
season.
The team
picked
up wins
at
Fulton
and
Cayuga
County
Fair
Speedway.
Saturday
at
Fulton
Shawn
took
advantage
of
lapped
traffic
getting
by Alan
Fink to
grab the
win.
Shawn
related
that he
doesn’t
think he
could of
gotten
by Alan
if it
wasn’t
for the
lapped
traffic.
"It's
great to
get this
first
win out
of the
way,"
saidShawn.
In 2006
the
track
champion
didn't
get his
first
win till
late in
the
season.
Donath
ended up
saying,
"This
kind of
proves
people
wrong
who were
predicting
our
demise
this
season."Said
Shawn.
There
was a
classic
side-by-side
battle
between
rookie
Steven
Planck
and
Shawn.
The
rookie
showed
the
poise
and
skill of
a
veteran.
When the
checkers
flew it
was
Shawn
followed
by
Planck.
In
victory
lane
Shawn
showed
class.
Instead
of
talking
about
himself
he had
nothing
but
praise
for
Planck.
"That
kid is
talented
and
tough.
It's
been a
long
time
since
I've run
that
clean
with
another
driver."
He also
said he
thought
he had
him when
he went
by him
the
first
time,
but
Planck
fought
back and
went by
him
again
before
Shawn
finally
got by
for the
win.This
Memorial
day
weekend
will
find
Shawn
once
again at
Fulton

Weekend of April 28th-29th Report
by Daniels/Mayfield
Motorsports
Mother nature once again was
two for three on the racing
weekend, as only Cayuga
County Fair Speedway was
able to get their racing in.
Shawn was able to use his favorite high line to battle
in the top-10 all day and
come home with a 7th place
finish. "We’re having a
tough time hitting on the
right set-up’s," related
Shawn. A lot of it can be
attributed to all the early
season rain outs and lack of
track time to hit on the
right car combination.
This weekend look for Shawn
to start his defense of his
track championship at Fulton
speedway. Gates open at 5pm
with race time at 7pm.
Weekend of April 21st-22nd
Report
by Daniels/Mayfield
Motorsports
Coming into the 2007 season
Shawn has two goals in mind.
The first is to rack up wins
and track titles. The most
important to Shawn and the
Daniels and Mayfield team is
to win the Mr. DIRTcar
Sportsman title.
Shawn started out the 2007
season at Can-Am Speedway
last Saturday night with the
$1,000 to win feature. Shawn
started in the top-ten and
came home with a third place
finish, behind winner Chris
Higgins and Jack Meeks.
On Sunday the team headed
south to the Cayuga County
Fair Speedway in Weedsport
NY for their opener. Racing
on a typical, daytime black
and slick track, Shawn held
his own and came home with
another third place finish.
"We out guessed ourselves
and could of tightened the
car up more. Will take the
third place and move on,"
related Donath.
This weekend look for Shawn
and the Daniels - Mayfield
team to be back at Can-Am
and Cayuga County Fair
Speedway.
